Love Your Community

Love Your Community
Become a GYCT Volunteer!

Valentine's Day is fast approaching and here at GYCT, we're asking Great Yarmouth to extend the love and embrace their local community. If everyone were to give just a few hours of their time to volunteering each week, we could really make a difference.

Through volunteering we can change things for the better, making the difference to individuals and families in our own community, from improving the environment we live in, spending time with those who may otherwise by lonely and contributing to a range of other essential services and support.

Launching our 2018 Love Your Community Campaign
GYCT relies on the commitment of its volunteer force to increase the range of its services and many service users benefit hugely from the personal and life experiences that a volunteer can bring. As a diverse organisation we have a wide range of opportunities to match varied interests, from working with children, young people and families, to working with adults at the Priory Centre or office or reception based activities.

Volunteering your services to help others is not just hugely satisfying, it can also teach you skills that are invaluable to potential employers. In return for the commitment and expertise invested by our volunteers we can provide a workplace to grow skills, confidence, friendships and networks, give you work based experience to add to your CV and a reference source for future employers.

Over the next four weeks our Love Your Community campaign will focus on the personal stories of some of our current volunteers to show the many benefits of volunteering, from finding new friendships and personal fulfilment, to helping you to move on or change direction, to shaping up your future career path.
