Find Local Childcare
The Government is introducing new ways to help parents with childcare costs. Whether you have toddlers or teens, you could get support. Childcare Choices brings together all the government childcare offers for the first time.
Two new offers have also been introduced:
- Tax-Free Childcare will be introduced on 28 April and rolled out gradually
- 30 hours free childcare will be available from September 2017
From the end of April, parents will begin to apply for both schemes at the same time through a new digital childcare service. Check what help you could get with childcare costs by using the online calculator.
There is strong evidence that good quality pre-school experiences improve children's intellectual, emotional and social development.
The Family Information Service will introduce you to the range of childcare options available in your local area.
Or you can use the Family and Childcare Trust's Childcare Finder to help you search for Ofsted registered childcare, including nurseries, childminders, breakfast and after-school clubs. There is also useful information about how to choose good childcare, including a short film: Choosing a nursery - what to look out for.
3-4 year olds are entitled to free nursery places. Norfolk County Council also offers free early learning and childcare to 2 year olds that meet the relevant criteria. You can find out more by watching their video.
