Story Telling Volunteer, Gorleston

Hours: Wednesday mornings (term time only)
GYCT Department or Team: Universal Groups - Children's Centre
Supported by: Samantha Hubbard


Specific Tasks

  • At the first session: observe a practitioner delivering the story time
  • Select a story sack
  • Read the story to a small group of children, using props provided
  • Complete follow up activity where required (detailed instructions to be given)
  • Support the maintenance of the resources for story sacks when required

  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Communicate sensitively
  • Raise any health & safety issues
  • Monitor children
  • Raise any safeguarding issues
  • Promote language and communication
  • Engage positively
  • Follow all policies and procedures
  • Work as a team
  • Act professionally
  • Be inclusive
  • Report any accidents/incidents
