Social Enterprises

Our social enterprises help to sustain GYCT financially and make it more secure.

In recent years charities have been faced with severe cuts in funding and increased competition. Consequently, they are having to rethink how they raise the money they need in order to survive. One method is to use a trading arm as, unlike grants, trading income is unrestricted, giving charities more independence and flexibility on how they spend monies. Such funds are generally used to pay for essential costs, such as governance, HR, finance etc, which are not normally sufficiently covered by grants, donations, fees etc.

Priory Trading is Great Yarmouth Community Trust's 'trading arm'. 'Profits' from its social enterprises are invested back into the charity to enable it to continue its great work in supporting the local community.
